Incorrect power setting
Check the power setting on the vacuum cleaner is set to the correct setting for the floor surface you are using the vacuum cleaner on.

Empty the dust bag
When the dust bag is full, suction will reduce.



Unplug the vacuum cleaner from the mains, remove the dust bag, empty the contents, then refit a new dust bag ensuring it is attached properly. Plug the vacuum cleaner back into the mains

Check the battery charge level indicator. The battery may need charging.

Remove any attachments and the main hose. Check there are no blockages which could reduce suction. Inspect the main hose and attachments for damage as any damage can cause a loss of suction. Replace the main hose and attachments.

Remove and clean the filter/s, checking for blockages or debris trapped. Then replace the filters.

Is the vacuum cleaner an upright vacuum cleaner?


Belt broken / slipped off

Most upright vacuum cleaners have a belt which drives the brush roll bar. If this has slipped off or broken, this can cause the vacuum cleaner to loose suction.


To check the belt and replace the belt, please check your vacuum cleaner manual in the Care and Maintenance section.

Remove the floorhead, check for any blockages, if a blockage is found, using a pair of long nose pliers carefully remove the blockage. Replace the floorhead.

Fitted attachments
Remove any attachments e.g., combination nozzle or crevice nozzle. If a blockage is found, using a pair of long nose pliers, a thin long wire or narrow screw driver remove the blockage. Replace the attachments.
